What Are Cool Roofing Systems?
Cool roofing systems are designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than traditional roofs, lowering roof temperatures by as much as 50-60°F. This helps reduce energy costs, minimize urban heat islands, and extend the life of your roof. Our cool roof materials include Macrylics, Carlisle, and GAF coatings.
What Is the Difference Between Cool Roofs and TPO?
Both cool roofs and TPO offer energy-efficient solutions, but TPO is a specific type of single-ply membrane roofing that is flexible, durable, and UV resistant. Cool roofs refer to a range of materials with high solar reflectance, while TPO roofing is more suited for commercial buildings with less exposure to chemicals or harsh environments.
What’s the Difference Between Tear-Offs and Overlays?
A tear-off involves completely removing the existing roofing system down to the deck. An overlay installs a new roofing system directly over the existing one, provided the structure can support it. Tear-offs offer a fresh start and more long-term durability, while overlays are faster and more cost-effective when applicable. Learn more about our reroofing services to see which option is right for your building.
What is the difference between TPO and PVC roofing?
TPO is a flexible, UV-resistant single-ply membrane known for reflecting sunlight and reducing energy costs, making it a great fit for strip malls, apartment complexes, and general commercial buildings. PVC is formulated with chlorine and other protective compounds, giving it superior resistance to chemicals, grease, and high temperatures. PVC is the better choice for restaurants, industrial facilities, and manufacturing environments where chemical exposure is a concern.
What is EPDM roofing?
EPDM is a durable, cost-effective rubber roofing system widely used on commercial and industrial buildings. It offers long-term protection against harsh weather, UV rays, and extreme temperatures. GoGreen installs EPDM systems using materials from trusted partners like Carlisle, Firestone, and Elevate, ensuring high performance and reliability over the life of the roof.
What is a roof coating and how does it work?
A roof coating is a fluid-applied system applied directly over your existing roof, creating a seamless, watertight layer of protection. It extends the life of your roof, reflects sunlight to reduce heat absorption, and lowers energy costs without the expense and disruption of a full replacement. It also keeps existing roofing materials out of landfills, making it an eco-friendly option for businesses looking to protect both their building and their bottom line.
Do you offer preventative maintenance plans?
Yes. GoGreen offers customized maintenance programs tailored to each building’s unique needs, taking into account building usage, environmental conditions, roof age, and roofing system type. Regular maintenance helps catch minor issues before they become costly repairs, extends the life of your roof, and can help preserve your NDL (No Dollar Limit) warranty, which many commercial roofing systems require regular maintenance to keep valid.
What manufacturers do you work with?
GoGreen partners with industry-leading manufacturers including GAF, Carlisle, Firestone, Elevate, Metacrylics, Henrys, and Suprema, among others. These partnerships ensure access to high-quality materials built for durability, energy efficiency, and long-term performance.
